
The Tenerife Sun Club was established in 1990; it is owned by the members of the Club and is controlled in accordance with the Club Constitution by a committee elected by the members of the Club. It is a non profit making Club, run by the members on behalf of the members.
The Club consists of 45 apartments which are owned on behalf of the members by a Trustee. The Trustees role is to hold the property to secure the occupancy rights of the members, the property can not be sold mortgaged or leased without approval by the members of the Club. The apartments are located within the complex known as Parque don Jose which also has some privately owned apartments used for either residential or holiday use by tour operators. The Club has its own onsite office and onsite staff employed solely on behalf of the Club.
The Club exists in perpetuity, without limit as to time. Members of the Club have the right to occupy a specific apartment for a specific week each year. To maintain their membership members are required to pay an annual management fee. A budget is set each year by the Committee and the management fee is set based upon the predicted expenditure required for the year.
The management company, appointed by the committee have an office in the Isle of Man. They issue and collect the management fees of the members, deal with members queries, booking ins, rentals and the sale of the clubs available timeshare weeks.
The Club holds an annual general meeting to which all members are invited to attend and participate; the audited accounts of the Club are laid before the members at the meeting.
